A new exciting entry. On May 5th, 2005 Joe will be adopting Jordan & Steven. It has been a long road for Jordan & Steven, but in the long run they have found happiness as well as myself. Joe came into our lives almost 6 years ago, I was reluctant at this time to even think of starting a relationship, but a very close friend insisted on me meeting Joe, just a card game, fine.

So on July 10th, 1999 we met at my house and played cards. There was no fireworks, no love at first sight, but he was nice, a new friend, cool, but as the night progressed I did think that maybe there was something there, he was so nice, he was so shy, we actually had alot in common, but I thought, he's to timid for me! (HA, last laugh here)

So when the night ended and we had plans the next day to visit the Bronx Zoo, I said to Michelle, ask him if he wants to go, and she did and he accepted. We had an awesome time and got to know each other a little better, Jordan was 9 and Steven 5, so they were a little curious as to why Mom was hanging with this guy at the zoo. Jordan was a little jealous and would step between us as we walked. Joe helped me in any way he could that day, if one child went one way and the other went the other way, he offered to help, he did this in the most casual way that the kids were comfortable.

At the end of our day, I thanked Joe for helping me, and this was his response "I would do this anyday with you" totally floored and I'm sure blushing I turned away. He asked if he can call me and I said sure.

I don't have to go into the rest of the story cause as they say, the rest is history!!

Although, I do have to share two other special moments that WON me over, we were at the beach where we went every weekend we got together, but the first, we were sitting on the rocks when he asked me if he could put his arm around me, I said sure, but in my mind thought, you've got to be kidding, we're in our mid 30's, okay, late 30's and he's asking me this?

And the best is I found out that he asked my dad for my hand in marriage, now as serious and touching that this is, there is also humor that has to be shared, dad was very serious and said of course, but what he wanted to say is that her bags will be on the front steps and BOY DO I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU!!!!!

So to make a long story short, on February 10th 2000 we are engaged, YEP, on the knees for the proposal. On September 16, 2000 we were married on that beach that we spent every weekend we were together.

I have been given a gift in Joe, my children have been given a gift in Joe, he is the most caring, loving, sensitive man I have ever known, and together with my children we have found true love.

And together all of us we have been given another gift to complete our family by traveling to China to bring home our daughter Madison Mei Qiong Lewis.

I will send pictures to Amy of this incredible day for all to celebrate with us.

Thanks for following in our journey and now I can actually say that our journey has come to an end, we have completed our family, we are one.
