We had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner at my mother's house. We got there a little early so that Jacob could settle in before everyone got there. We weren't thinking that presents are opened after dinner, so we didn't bring any toys. Fortunately Meme had a bucket of cars to entertain him, so he was pretty happy. We also had brought Nemo, so that pretty much sealed the deal.

It was a later than usual dinner because Brian's family's Church held service later this year. I knew it was going to be a struggle with Jake, and it was. We couldn't sit him down early because what would he do while we were eating. So, we attempted to feed him late. Bad plan. He sat for a few minutes, and then decided he didn't need his plate anymore. Luckily it was a plastic plate and landed on Nick's empty plate. Ken and I ate in shifts quickly to move the night along.

We pushed for the opening of presents by 7:30. We could tell Jake was getting pretty tired, so we didn't want to push him past his limit. It was his first Christmas where he had a clue, so we wanted to keep it fun for him. The other kids were pretty psyched about moving onto the presents, too. Schaller and Ethan got these motorcycles that the had fun playing with. Ethan would shoot his off the launcher, and Jacob would run and retrieve it. That was great until one of the cyclists lost a leg. That bummed Ethan out, so he stopped playing. I think despite the toy tragedy, everyone had a fun time.

Mommy and Jacob. Yes Jake is eating as usual...	The Grandkids	So I put the bow on my head and that brings good luck? Good thing I have big cousins to set me straight on these things.
