Our Christmas Day at Tony and Esta's
(12/25/05)

Last year Ken and I started a new thing. We decided to alternate Christmas Day between his parents and my parents. We figured it would be better for Jacob so we could enjoy Christmas morning with him before we headed out on our visiting.

When our morning was done, we headed out (Nemo tape in hand), off to my father's house. It wasn't a great Christmas morning. It was rainy and warm, but since you're indoors, I guess it really doesn't matter. At least there was some leftover snow from a prior storm. It was nice to know we didn't have any other place to go. We could settle in and just relax for the day. Jake didn't get in a nap before we left, but he slept for most of the way there.

Kerri, Steve, Stephanie, Kerri's grandmother, Amy, and Frank were there when we got there. It was Kerri and Steve's "off" year, so we only saw them for a short time. Jake was still groggy from sleeping, so he wasn't much for socializing right away. He just wanted to lay on my lap. By the time he was up and ready, Kerri, Stephanie, and Steve had already left. Jake likes to play with Stephanie, so that was a bummer. He had fun opening his presents. He especially liked the Mr. Potato Head and dump truck. He really didn't make many faces. He pretty much just loaded and unloaded the pieces into the truck and into the Potato Head case. When Brian and Kenny came with their families, Jacob was all hooked up. He had both Schaller and Ethan to play with.

I got a really cool hat from Auntie Kerry and Uncle Steve Uh, what's up with the tag Mom? Uncle Kenny doesn't look anywhere as cool as Mr. Jacob, but he does look pretty happy!
