Easter '05
(As with all our photos, click on one anywhere in our site, and it will open up bigger)

It was my mother's turn for Easter this year. It was great because everyone was able to make it. It seems like as the kids get older, we aren't as able to all hook up these days.

We lucked out with the weather because the pouring rain happened on Monday instead of Sunday. The kids always play baseball in the backyard, so they would have been pretty bummed if they were stuck inside. Ken and I were also happy about the weather. We decided not to bother with the port-a-crib this time. Jacob never seems to go down at any of his grandparents houses, so we figured we would try a new idea. We brought the stroller instead. It worked out well.

After dinner Ken, Jake, and I headed out for stroll. He, (Jake, although Ken might have been too), was pretty tired, so we thought he would knock off pretty quickly, but we got to the end of the street and he was still awake. We turned off the street and headed down the main road. He still was wide awake, so I suggested looking up an old friend from high school. I hadn't seen her in over 5 years, and I knew she had 2 kids now. She was down at her farm, but her mom called her up and she headed back to her parents. It was good to see her and meet her kids. One is 3 and the other is only a couple weeks younger than Jacob. Her guys are rough, so I think I'll try to make a point of making some play dates with them. Jake hasn't had any bad reports from daycare in a while, but I'm sure he's still pretty agressive. He's not a bully. It's just that he's just so much bigger than the other kids. Nancy's 1 year old is also a big guy, so it would be a better match for him. Although, Cooper (the 1 year old) weighs more than Jacob, he's a few inches shorter, so we'll see how it goes.
