Mother's Day
(5/12/07)

Surprise, surprise! We finally had Mother's Day with awesome weather! Normally the weather is pretty "iffy" for us and the Dads are the one with all the sun. It was great. We were outside all afternoon. Well, everyone except the grandmothers. You know bugs, etc, so they stayed in the screen room, but that's kind of outside, right?

It was so nice that I was totally off for getting the food ready. The afternoon flew by so our plan to eat kind of early was all messed up. Karen's brother Larry had his 40th that night, so I was trying to make it a little easier for them to get to the party at a decent time, but it did not happen. I finally notice the the crock pot isn't on, and then I forget to put the beans in the oven, and then the mac/cheese needed to be hotter. It was not my normally well-oiled-machine. Oh well, what can I say? I did manage to have "pretty cupcakes" for Papa's birthday. So I at least had that going for me....

The kids were happy to be able to spend the day outside. They group pretty much split up between the basketball players and the baseball players. Eventually everyone ended up in the back playing baseball. Jacob was in heaven. He absolutely LOVES playing with his big cousins. By the time he came in at the end of the day, he was dirty from nose to toes with the biggest smile on his face!

Uh Nick, No sleeping. You're at a party. Nice smile Ethan! Madison can you show me again how to make the swing go?
Yah, right. They're just PRETENDING to be asleep. Hey Papa, you're supposed to make sure he DOESN'T get into trouble! Uh-oh. You guys are starting to tip...
Chillin' Happy Birthday Papa! So how do you open this thing?
So where's your other kid??? Helloooo up there Ryan! Jacob makes a fine catcher for Ryan!
