Mitchell had his first Easter with us. He was less than impressed. Jacob on the other hand was all about the candy! We kept telling him that the Easter bunny was going to come and fill his basket. He was totally cool with it. He was even all set to go sit on the bunny's lap. Well we headed out to the mall to get it done, and what we neglected to mention was that it wasn't actually a "bunny". It was more like a BUNNY. So, off he hopped across the mall to the bunny. When we got up close, he was very clear that he did NOT want to sit on the bunny's lap. So, we parked Mitchell on the rabbit and Jacob watched. We took one picture and Jacob agreed to sit next to the critter. He left a bit of a space between them, but at least he gave it a try.

Later in the week he agreed to go to the "Breakfast with the Bunny" event that our town puts on. He picked a table right near Mr. Rabbit, so he was over his fear. He waved to him while he ate, got his face painted, did some crafts, and sat on the bunny's lap two time. He even won one of the Easter baskets that were raffled off. So, as if that wasn't enough for a good day, we headed off to the town Easter egg hunt. I've never been to one of these before, so I was looking forward to it too. There were like a million eggs in a field (not hidden at all). They let all the kids loose and they just took off grabbing eggs. Jacob tried to stop to say "hi" to a friend, but Ken was like "No, Jacob! Run, Get Eggs". It was really funny watching all the kids race around the field. When the "hunt" was over (like 5 seconds after it started), we headed took a few pictures. Mitchell was REALLY not thrilled about this, so we headed over to the playscape. Mitchell was probably less thrilled with the swings. Now, I tend to push the kids a little high, but Jacob liked that. Apparently Mitchell is more of a "merry-go-round" kid. We had a great family day despite the few crocodile tears.
