Pumpkin Picking
(10/1/05)

It was going to be a great weekend, so we called my mother to head out to the pumpkin patch. Last year we just headed to a farm that was a quick grab and go thing. With Jacob being older now, we decided to make a day of it this year instead. We went to Foster's Farm which is kind of a split between our place and my mother's place. You can pick your own pumpkins, but we just walked around the patch and didn't actually cut any. The also had a track with little John Deere play tractors. Jake loved riding them, but he was too little to do it on his own. There were also lots of wooden playscapes. Jake loved the train and the pirate ship He even went down the big slide on the ship. When we were ready to leave, we headed over to the pile of pumpkins. While we were looking them over, Jake found a basket of apples. He was pretty excited about that bucket of "balls". Meme picked one up and took a bite to show him that he could eat one. He had never eaten an apple like that before. He was pretty happy about it.

Mommy and Jake in the Pumpkin Patch Jake was a little freaked out when he first went into the patch, but he got over it.
Meme helped him find rocks. He loved them more than the pumpkins. Nice tractor!
Jake AND Daddy had fun with the tire tunnel
  Oooo, a gourd!
So I can eat this ball?? Mmmmm.
